ABOUT MY APPROACH
Therapy that makes space for both understanding and change.
Therapy can help you manage what you’re experiencing now while also developing a deeper understanding of the patterns, relationships, and experiences that may be shaping how you feel.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you. Rather than following the same formula with every person, we’ll focus on what feels most relevant to your needs, goals, and life.
What therapy with me is like
A collaborative process
I don’t see therapy as a place where I simply give you advice or tell you how to live your life. Instead, we’ll work together to understand what’s happening, what may be keeping you stuck, and what might help you move forward.
At times, our work may be practical and focused on coping with something happening right now. At other times, we may slow down and explore emotions, relationships, past experiences, or patterns that keep repeating.
The goal is to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself while creating more freedom in how you respond to your life.
Practical tools + deeper exploration
Working with what you’re experiencing now
Depending on what you’re going through, therapy may include practical ways of working with anxiety, difficult emotions, stress, intrusive thoughts, relationship challenges, or addictive patterns.
We may draw from approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and other skills that can help you navigate everyday life.
Understanding what’s underneath
Sometimes symptoms also carry information about experiences, emotions, relationships, or needs that haven’t been fully understood.
Psychodynamic, attachment-based, somatic, and parts-informed approaches can help us explore these deeper patterns, not simply to understand the past, but to notice how it may still be showing up in your life today.
Modalities
An integrative approach
Psychodynamic & Attachment-Based Therapy
Exploring recurring emotional and relationship patterns and how earlier experiences may continue to influence the present.
Somatic Approaches
Paying attention to how emotions, stress, and experiences are expressed through the body and nervous system.
CBT, DBT & ACT
Developing practical ways of working with thoughts, emotions, behaviours, distress, and difficult experiences.
IFS-Informed Parts Work
Approaching different parts of yourself with curiosity and understanding rather than judgment.
Mindfulness & Motivational Interviewing
Developing greater awareness while exploring motivation, ambivalence, and meaningful change.
What we might work on
Therapy can look different for everyone.
Our work might involve understanding why you become anxious in certain situations, reconnecting with yourself during depression, processing difficult experiences, exploring relationship patterns, working with addictive coping, developing greater emotional awareness, or simply understanding why you feel stuck.
You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong, or what kind of therapy you need before reaching out.
You don’t need to choose the “right” type of therapy before starting.
We can begin with what’s happening in your life now and decide together what kind of approach makes sense.
